TKA and BSFF Celebrate Metro E-Sports Grads This Holiday Season

During the final month of 2021, The Kinship Advisors attended the Metro Digital Bridges & Stem Certification Program, sponsored by the Ben Simmons Family Foundation. This was one of the two graduations for the 50-student cohort, based in Philadelphia, PA area.

During the event, Metro students presented their final projects in coding and received industry-recognized certificates of completion. As a congratulatory gift for all the young students who completed this rigorous three-month program, the BSFF surprised the students with stuffed holiday stockings and a giant pizza party.

This partnership between BSFF and Metro E-Sports is aimed to diversify a gaming industry that lacks representation from people of color. Over 53% of all video game players are black and brown, yet less than 2% are represented in the industry.

The goal of Metro E-Sports is to bridge the gap in tech education and access, by offering a wide array of tech and coding courses, offered both online and in-person (COVID safe), to students ages 13+. To learn more about the work of the BSFF and Metro E-Sports, visit
