TKA and BSFF Celebrate Metro E-Sports Grads This Holiday Season

During the final month of 2021, The Kinship Advisors attended the Metro Digital Bridges & Stem Certification Program, sponsored by the Ben Simmons Family Foundation. This was one of the two graduations for the 50-student cohort, based in Philadelphia, PA area.

During the event, Metro students presented their final projects in coding and received industry-recognized certificates of completion. As a congratulatory gift for all the young students who completed this rigorous three-month program, the BSFF surprised the students with stuffed holiday stockings and a giant pizza party.

This partnership between BSFF and Metro E-Sports is aimed to diversify a gaming industry that lacks representation from people of color. Over 53% of all video game players are black and brown, yet less than 2% are represented in the industry.

The goal of Metro E-Sports is to bridge the gap in tech education and access, by offering a wide array of tech and coding courses, offered both online and in-person (COVID safe), to students ages 13+. To learn more about the work of the BSFF and Metro E-Sports, visit

The Bridge Program is dedicated to cultivating the next generation of leaders in science and technology and is designed for 8-12th graders from underrepresented communities throughout the greater Boston area. For more information about the Bridge Program, visit  https://www.bridgefuture.org/

For the two weeks leading up to the November 30th #GivingTuesday Gala, TKA and The 7uice Foundation raised funds by auctioning off seven authentic, Jaylen Brown-autographed items, with the winners announced during the virtual program.

Due to the ongoing Covid pandemic, the gala was hosted virtually over Zoom, but it was nothing short of an action-packed evening complete with emcee, special celebrity guests, and of course Jaylen Brown and MIT Media Lab Director, David Kong, who shared their reflections on the 12-week pilot program. The event was an overall success, raising over $25,000.00 for The 7uice Foundation and The Bridge Program’s future sustainability.
